We designed a custom-curved Trex deck for this sloping garden in Leatherhead, Surrey, creating direct access to a swim spa, a circular feature around an established tree and fan-shaped steps illuminated by integrated lighting.
The clients’ swim spa was nestled into the slope of the garden, and they wanted to be able to walk directly into it from the patio. The changing ground levels meant the deck needed to provide a comfortable route while fitting naturally around the position of the spa.
We designed the deck height and layout to connect the patio with the swim spa, creating a practical transition and a generous outdoor area where the clients could relax and entertain.
A prominent tree provided the inspiration for the main design feature. We created a curved deck around it, allowing the tree to remain an important part of the garden while giving the new entertaining area additional character and charm.
To connect the deck with the sloping lower garden, we built bespoke fan-shaped steps that continued the flowing lines of the design. The clients selected Trex Transcend decking in Island Mist, complemented by integrated Trex lighting.
The finished deck has a strong sculptural quality during the day, while the carefully positioned lighting transforms it into an inviting outdoor entertaining space after dark.
